Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the simple but powerful practice of bringing awareness to the present moment. Despite its simple nature it can feel difficult to put into practice. Our lives today can feel busy and stressful. We often get caught up in worries about the future or in mentally replaying events from the past. These unhelpful ways of thinking are hard to escape from, often having a negative impact on our lives. Being chronically caught up in thinking can also mean we miss out on the small joys of everyday life. ​
The ancient techniques of mindfulness are increasing being used to  help people deal with the anxieties and stress of the modern world. Practices like breathing exercises, mindful movement and tuning in to the senses are effective ways of gently training our attention to become more stable. Our mindfulness practitioner Laura can guide you through a range of techniques, helping you to bring the benefits of mindfulness into your life. 
​Our mindfulness classes include support to develop a sustainable mindfulness practice and adapt a more mindful approach to life through 1:1 support and/or group mindfulness practices.

What we offer:

1:1 Mindfulness Session 

For some, it is easier to learn with one to one guidance. These hour long individual sessions are tailored specifically for your needs. They give you the chance to be guided through mindfulness practices, to discuss and learn the most suitable techniques for you and to help overcome any barriers to practice. 

Mindfulness Practice Group (Tuesdays in Dundee)
Classes cost £10, or a block of 4 for £36.

In this weekly group session, you will be guided through a seated practice, allowing you to learn and develop mindfulness techniques. This will be followed by a short teaching on a mindfulness topic. The session will then finish with a body scan practice encouraging participants to mover further into silence and rest. 

The group is most suitable for those who have already experienced some mindfulness practice. However, all are welcome. If you are new to the practice you may wish to start with some individual sessions before joining the group although this is not required.
