As a Clinical Reflexologist for over 5 years, Karen has seen the benefits of reflexology in supporting women throughout the fluctuating hormonal changes that happen from puberty, through pregnancy and the early days of parenting, and through the changes associated with the menopause. Her qualification is a Diploma in Clinical Reflexology SCQF level 8 (the highest level of certification you can achieve) and she is a member of the Association of Reflexologists. Her background includes over 30 years experience in Nursing and Midwifery and she is still a practising midwife. Karen has undertaken additional training in Maternity Reflexology and has a particular interest in this. Being a Clinical Reflexologist reflects Karen's interest in how the body works, as each system within the body interacts with one another, incorporating physical, psychological, and emotional aspects. The benefits of Reflexology are best experienced with regular treatments – the more you have, the more benefits you feel. The aim is to support you through life and hormonal changes. These include: stimulating the nervous system which induces a deep sense of relaxation which encourages with body to produce its own healing properties. This in turn can reduce the effects of stress and tension, can improve the quality of sleep and can improve a sense of wellbeing.
