Michelle is a fully qualified and accredited Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a member of the British Psychological Society (and previous co-chair of the Division of Neuropsychology within BPS).
Michelle has extensive experience working as a senior clinician in outpatient and inpatient settings, in both NHS and in the private sector. For over a decade, Michelle has also lectured for the ‘Doctorate in Clinical Psychology’ students at the University of Edinburgh.
Therapeutically, Michelle’s places value in building an open and honest therapeutic relationship, creating a safe space, promoting collaborative working to empower and support individuals, and their families, to make helpful changes.
Michelle works with clients who have difficulties with:

Low self esteem
Difficulties managing emotions and behaviour
Difficulties associated with adjustment - This could be following an environmental/situational change (e.g. school/location change, parental divorce), injury or diagnosis of the individual or a loved one (e.g. childhood or parental illness/injury, diagnosis of ASD, ADD/ADHD, intellectual disability)
Relationship difficulties
Challenges associated with parenting
Michelle draws from a range of evidenced-based therapeutic approaches, for example, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Michelle has additional expertise in Clinical Neuropsychology which supports an understanding of neuro-developmental stage and neuro-diversity (e.g. ASD, ADD, ADHD) whilst always putting the person at the centre of her care, and always holding space for individual differences.
