Gail qualified as a Counselling Psychologist in 2019. Alongside her roles with Tay Wellbeing and Tay Psychology, Gail works in an NHS psychotherapy service. Gail has experience working within a number of settings, including; psychiatric, cancer care, veterans, LGBTQ+, domestic abuse.
Gail's journey to being a therapist started when she worked as a research and policy officer at Up-2-Us, who support looked after children, and young women in the criminal justice system. It was her experiences there that motivated her to move into youth work and from there she decided to pursue her qualification to work therapeutically with people.
At Tay Wellbeing, Gail seeks to support and empower young people and women to take up space in the world, by helping them to process events, including traumatic experiences and life transitions. She aims to help build self-acceptance and self-embracement. Gail considers herself an LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent ally. She welcomes those who wish to explore these parts of themselves. In general, Gail hopes to work with you in a holistic and inclusive way.
Gail integrates Person-Centred Therapy (PCT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She focuses on strengths, and uses creative and experiential approaches when working with both young people and adults.
Gail is a facilitator for Circle of Security Parenting and can deliver this in group settings or 1:1.
